Doug Polk is no stranger to high-stakes challenges, but his latest bet had nothing to do with poker.
According to a recent feature on PokerNews, Polk wagered $40,000 for the chance to perform a single minute of stand-up comedy on the massively popular YouTube show Kill Tony. The show, filmed at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership in Austin, regularly draws millions of viewers and is known for throwing comedians into the spotlight with zero warning.
The opportunity came after a casual heads-up poker challenge with Kill Tony host Tony Hinchcliffe. Polk lost the initial match — but doubled down, risking $40K for a one-minute comedy set. That bet earned him a spot on the show and a moment far outside his usual comfort zone.
The appearance highlights Polk’s continued presence in Austin’s entertainment scene and his willingness to embrace challenges well beyond the poker table.
